Healing Stories

Client: Murray. Brain injured age 2½. Came to CFQ as adult using a walker. Difficult to stand alone. Does CFQ Hexagram dance regularly. Mind has cleared—can now read with no problems (loves doing brain research). Feet have opened out and lengthened—gained 1½ inches in length and now takes two sizes larger shoes. He also loves to show off his stand alone using just his ankle braces.
My daughter is diagnosed as asthmatic. A couple of years ago she was having an attack during a cold. I don't like using medicine with her (since she is also ADHD). I sat and did My Happy Body with her and in 2-3 minutes she was calmed down and breathing normally.
I have been practicing CFQ for 8 years. My body has become more flexible and resilient. I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis 10 years ago. Instead of getting stiffer and more limited, I have greater range of motion in my neck and back than I did 10 years ago.
On a long trip, airplane and auto, I used "Butterfly Shake" to keep the circulation going while seated. This prevented stiffening of my arthritic knees. Then, for further easing, when sitting in a restaurant, I would do parts of "My Happy Body", under the table if enough space, or with arms beside the chair, or both.
After the Level One, Level Two two-hour practice group last Thursday, my vision was so clear that I was over halfway home before I realized that I wasn't wearing my glasses! Since I am required by law to wear glasses while driving, I pulled over and put them on for the rest of the drive.
An older woman with an advanced stage of scoliosis where one side of the lumbar spine was beginning to fuse was in great pain constantly and could only walk a few steps with a cane. After two months of CFQ healing once a week, she is now walking freely and is without pain. She has learned "My Happy Body" and practices it regularly.
Cyst in right wrist—hardening of palmar tendons right hand from bodywork. I injured my right wrist from overworking hand during bodywork. It was painful, very hard tendons in right palm like "trigger finger". At the same time a cyst appeared under right wrist. After the summer retreat (CFQ) this injury continued to improve. The restriction in 4th and 5th finger flexor tendons softened and range of motion improved. A large cyst on the underside of wrist completely disappeared over the summer. No more pain when working with my hands during sessions.
About a month before I started learning Qigong, I experienced sharp pain in both knees when I moved my knees in specific movements, i.e. mostly in going up steps and sitting down on the bus. The pain was sharp enough I'd be saying "Ow"! It was embarrassing in public places. I don't know when the pains stopped after my practice. I believe very quickly and it has never returned in 7 years.
