CFQ Level One Training Standards

Effective July 30, 2006

Level One in the CFQ Training Process

This policy has been developed under the direction of CFQ Founders, Master Yap Soon Yeong and Chok C. Hiew.

Certified Instruction

It is expected that persons learning CFQ will receive qualified instruction under Master Yap Soon Yeong, Chok C. Hiew or a person certified to instruct Level One. Certification of Instructors follows standards established under the direction of the Founders.

All Certified Instructors are expected to renew their training under Master Yap as often as possible

It is expected that Certified Instructors will be active members of the Society supporting its activities and contributing to the advancement of its mission.

Phases of Training

CFQ is a graduated system of self-cultivation and healing practice. In particular, the energetic healing process set in motion with the dynamic movements of Level One is deepened and brought to fruition in CFQ meditation training which begins with Level Two. Levels One and Two should be seen as mutually supportive phases of CFQ training. It is advantageous to repeat trainings in all levels of CFQ.

CFQ brings about changes in the mind-body-spirit and these changes require time to fully register their effects. For this reason the training process is phased over time.

In most cases a student should practice Level One on a regular basis for at least six months before pursuing training in Level Two. An exception is made for training sessions with Master Yap Soon Yeong and/or Chok Hiew. Attendance at a Level One training with Master Yap or Chok Hiew qualifies a person to take Level Two training with the Founders with no delay. Persons receiving abbreviated training with Master Yap or Chok Hiew should complete their training in Level One under a Certified Instructor.

Before registering for Level Three training a person will need to demonstrate that they have completed Level One training in accordance with this policy and have practiced Levels One and Two for at least twelve months. This is to ensure that one is karmicly cleansed and one's own Qi smoothened before attempting to heal others. In general, there is a serious commitment to self-development required of CFQ healers.

Training Requirement for Instructor Certification

Along with other criteria to become a candidate for Level One Instructor certification, a person must have received training in Level One to the full extent of this policy. Persons who have received less than the full hours of training, with whatever trainer, will need to complete their training under a Certified Instructor.

Certification of Completion of Level One Training

Level One Instructors will issue certificates of completion to students they deem to have completed the requirements of Level One training in accordance with this policy.

Certified Instructors are expected to inform their students about the process of becoming members of the Society.

Certified Instructors are also expected to submit information to the Society on students who have completed Level One training in accordance with this Policy, as follows:

  • Name of the student
  • Contact information for the student including mailing address, telephone numbers, and email addresses (All personal information will be treated as confidential by the Society and will not be shared, without permission, with any other individual or organization.)
  • Date on which Level One training was completed
  • Number of hours and format of training
  • Name of the Instructor

Instructional Standards

Certified Instructors are required to ensure that the following standards are adhered to in the instruction of CFQ Level One.

Hours of Instruction

There are three options for the format and length of Level One instruction:

1)  Two-day intensive session. When Level One is taught in a single intensive session, that session must extend over two days — either on consecutive days or at an interval of no more than one week. A minimum of twelve hours of instruction is required.

2)  Weekly classes. When Level One is taught in weekly classes, these classes should be at least one hour in length. A minimum of twelve hours of instruction is required.

3)  Private lessons. When Level One is taught in individual instruction, sessions should be at least one hour in length. A minimum of nine hours of instruction is required.

Note: attendance at practice groups does not qualify as training time.

Components of Level One Training

The required components of Level One training are listed under two headings: practical training and theory.

Practical Training in CFQ Movements and Energy Healing

1)  The seven-movement Hexagram Dance, including the correct performance of song-kua, fa-jing and xin-fa

2)  Complementary movements:

  • Wisdom Roots
  • Butterfly Shake
  • My Happy Body
  • Grounding Qi
  • Lotus Walk
  • Love My Body
  • Note: Freedom Hands and Freedom Walk are optional

3)  An experience of CFQ Energy Healing

CFQ Theory

1)  The origin of CFQ in the teachings of Master Yap Soon Yeong

2)  Principles of meridian cleansing

3)  Guidelines for the efficacious practice of CFQ

4)  The use of the Hexagram Dance for meditation

5)  Principles of CFQ Energy Healing

Instructional Materials

Certified Instructors will encourage students to purchase the current CFQ Level One instructional manual published by Master Yap Soon Yeong and Dr. Chok C. Hiew.

Purchase of and use of the current Level One instructional video or DVD in daily practice is also to be strongly encouraged.

Additional Considerations

Students are to be encouraged to attend practice groups frequently in order to deepen their personal practice and to benefit from the mutually supportive environment that groups afford.

Students are to be encouraged to repeat their training in all levels. CFQ self-cultivation is an on-going process deepened through repetition.
