Shelley Wilcox
Shelley Wilcox, working as an environmental entrepreneur in the 90’s, developed a debilitating case of fibromyalgia due mainly to overstress. This was relieved almost miraculously by attending a workshop taught by Master Yap Soon Yeong in Chaoyi Fanhuan Qigong. This was in June 2002 after 6 years of near total disability. Greatly impressed with the results, she immediately started free CFQ practice groups and became a Certified Level One Instructor in January 2003. She started teaching full-time in fall of 2003 with her company, The Chi Studio Ltd.
Although not formally trained, Shelley has always been involved with helping to create sustainable communities. Starting with her senior staff position with the Help Line in the mid 70’s, her 20 years as a volunteer addictions counsellor and the development of central-site composting for Nova Scotia. The latter lead to coveted awards from the Resource Recovery Fund in both facility design (1998 - The Good Earth) and Waste Management education programming (1999 - Eco Schools) for the Halifax Regional School Board.
She now teaches CFQ to regularly-scheduled public courses in Metro, Wolfville and Bridgewater as well as frequent courses for both Federal and Provincial government departments.
